Summary
I am currently a PhD student focused on developing a promising technology for human (healthy) life-extension. I created my own company to fund my education. I graduated from the inaugural year of the Singularity University at Nasa Ames Research Center, Moffiet Field California in August 2009. The Singularity University (SU) is an interdisciplinary university (based at the NASA Ames campus in Silicon Valley) whose mission is to assemble, educate and inspire a cadre of leaders who strive to understand and facilitate the development of exponentially advancing technologies in order to address humanity’s grand challenges.
I have a licentiate (Bachelor) in mathematics. In each of the five years as a student, I received merit awards awarded by the University, and at the end of my licentiate I received an academic merit award, awarded by the Portuguese government, for have been the best student in mathematics from my university. While still a 4th year student I was a teaching assistant in calculus, and after have finished my licentiate I was a teaching assistant in calculus and in mathematical logic. I also made a course in theoretical neuroscience.
During my free time from my licentiate in Mathematics, I completed several courses related to life and health care. I am a certified emergency medical technician certified by the "Portuguese Red Cross”, and I also took two certified beach life-guard courses (which included Basic Life Support). I am also a teacher of several sports: I am a swimming teacher, a professional tennis teacher, a body-building and aero-fitness teacher, and a power-lifting teacher. I completed also a course in nutrition. The reason why I took these different courses was that I wanted to be able to control my own physical training and nutritional program.
I am one of the three co-founders of Alcor Portugal (together with Diogo Martins, and Rui Freitas). The Alcor Portugal website can be seen at: www.cryonics.com.pt. I am an Alcor member, and I also attended the 7th Alcor Conference.

- 2009 - Graduated from Singularity University at Nasa Ames Research Center (Moffiet Field, California) in August 2009. I attend the inaugural year of Singularity University (SU) with a full scholarship of $25.000 dollars. The Inaugural Year of SU had 40 students selected from more than 1.200 applications. - 2006 - Present: PhD student, University of Minho. I created my own company to fund my PhD.
- JULY 2004 – Finish the licentiate (Bachelor of Science) in mathematics at the University of Minho (finished ranking the best student of mathematics)
- JULY 1998 – Finish the secondary education (high school), having completed it as the best student with the classification of 18 (over 20) values

- MARCH 2005- JULY 2005: Student Teaching Assistant, at the University of Minho in mathematical logic. I teached mathematical logic at the bachelor of computer science and informatics engineering again. Again, I became familiar with computer science, informatics and engineering.
- SETEMBER 2004- FEBRUARY 2005: Student Teaching Assistant, at the University of Minho in mathematical analysis (Calculus). I teached calculus at the bachelor of mechanical engineering. I became familiar with mechanical engineering.
- SEPTEMBER 2003- JULY 2004: Trainee professor (this includes the scientific work on "theory of cardinals" and the respective seminar presentation).
- SETEMBER 2002- FEBRUARY 2003: (while still a 4th year graduate student) I was a Student Teaching Assistant at the University of Minho in mathematical analysis (Calculus). I teached calculus at the bachelor of computer science and informatics engineering. I became familiar with computer science, informatics and engineering.
- SEPTEMBER 2002- PRESENT: Personal mathematics teacher (mathematics explanations). I created my own math teaching center.

- 2006: Finished the Certified Course on Theoretical Neuroscience
- 2005: Finished the certified course in nutrition, and also the certified course of professor of body-building, aero-fitness, power-lifting and musculation.
- 2003: Finished the course of swimming teacher certificated by the Portuguese swimming Federation and the course of national professional of tennis certificated by the European registry of tennis professionals
- 2001: Finished the certified course on EMT-B, Emergency Medical Technician- basic level (including Basic Life Support - BLS) officially certified by the Portuguese Institution “Portuguese Red Cross”
